All vehicles on HoppyGo are insured. What are the insurance options and what is covered or not covered?
Insurance options
Drivers have a choice of three types of car insurance:
The cheapest basic insurance, which is 25% cheaper than HoppyGo Standard.
For claims over CZK 100,000, the co-payment is 10%.
Standard insurance, which you will have automatically pre-selected.
For claims over CZK 100,000, the deductible is 5%.
Above standard insurance with zero co-payments.
In the event of an accident, the deductible is 0% / 0 CZK.
A fee of CZK 2,000 in the event of repair by an unauthorised repair shop.
What is the difference between them?
With HoppyGo Basic 10% insurance, you are required to pay a refundable deposit of CZK 5,000 and a 10% co-payment (minimum CZK 10,000) in the event of an accident with damage exceeding CZK 100,000.
With HoppyGo Standard 5% insurance, you are required to pay a refundable deposit of CZK 1,000 and a 5% co-payment (minimum of CZK 5,000) in the event of an accident with damage exceeding CZK 100,000.
With HoppyGo Extra 0% insurance, you pay no deposit and there is no co-payment in the event of an accident. However, if the vehicle is repaired at an unauthorised repair shop, be prepared for a deductible of CZK 2,000.

Pricing
- In order for us to calculate the cost of insurance for any loan, you must have an approved profile and be logged in.
- Tailored insurance pricing: the cost of the insurance is calculated based on multiple factors including your driving history, age and the characteristics of the car you have chosen.
! IMPORTANT !
Unfortunately, without the user logging in we cannot calculate the cost of the insurance and the rental price will be displayed with the average insurance amount. You are advised of this fact by the text below the rental price. Only after logging in will the insurance price be automatically updated.
What does the insurance cover?
- Damage from floods, hail, falling objects (trees), fire, explosion, lightning
- Collision with wildlife, rodent damage to cables
- Hitting an obstacle or colliding with another vehicle
- Theft of the vehicle or its parts, vandalism, larceny
- Car window/windshield insurance
- Applies to all windows on the vehicle.
- Co-payment 1 000 CZK (*no co-payment if the repair is carried out in an authorised repair shop)
- Assistance services
- Towing the vehicle to the nearest repair shop
- On-site repair in case of vehicle breakdown (mechanical/electrical failure)
- Alternative transport or accommodation
- Cost of return travel to your home country
For assistance services, it is necessary to distinguish whether there has been an accident or a breakdown.

What is not covered?
× Tyre damage (e.g. punctures caused by a nail or curb)
× Damage to the engine or clutch caused by driver misuse (e.g. downshifting at high speed)
× Compulsory insurance
× Intentional damage
× Use of vehicle for criminal activity, driving without a licence, under the influence of alcohol or drugs
× Damage caused by racing
× Damage caused by pulling the vehicle on a rope
Owners with their own insurance
If the owner can prove to us that their insurance policy allows them to rent out the vehicle, HoppyGo will allow rentals. However, it must be understood that all problem solving is then left to the owner and driver. HoppyGo cannot guarantee the claims handling process of such an insured rental. Drivers must then bear in mind that the terms and conditions of the owners’ own insurance may differ from HoppyGo’s standard terms and conditions.
