HoppyGo is a car sharing service to connect drivers and owners. Owners can earn extra money by renting out their car, and drivers can rent any vehicle without having to own it. But what about invoices and other related administration? Let’s take a look.
We will divide the explanation into two parts; one intended for the owner followed by one for the driver.
OWNER
Owners may receive up to four invoices after the end of a rental in the HoppyGo application. What are they?
1. INVOICE WITH COMMISSION
One invoice is the commission by which the loan was increased and it is an invoice between HoppyGo (supplier) and the owner (customer). There will be only one line item with the commission amount on this invoice . The commission is added to the rental price and the price for extra kilometers driven.
Why do we invoice the commission to the owner? The main reason is the mediation of the service for the owner , not for the driver , therefore it is not possible to invoice the commission to the driver.
2. RENTAL INVOICE
The second invoice is between the owner and the driver for the rental of the vehicle and any additional payments resulting from the rental. The supplier in this case is the owner and the customer is the driver. It is important to keep in mind that if you want to have invoices issued to a company, enter your company information in your profile and then invoices will be issued to your company. Don’t forget to tax your rental income. You can find out more in the taxes section of the frequently asked questions: FAQ.
3. INVOICE FOR FINES
All fines incurred during a rental are invoiced separately. This includes, for example, co-payment for an insurance event, a fine for late return, a fine for a dirty vehicle, a speeding fine, etc.
4. INVOICE FOR „MARKETING SERVICES“
You will receive this invoice in a situation where the driver applies a rental discount when paying and the HoppyGo commission is negative. It can be confusing that on the invoice the supplier is the vehicle owner and the customer is HoppyGo. This is done as according to the GTC, point no. 7 Marketing campaign, the owner accepts the discount applied by the driver, for which HoppyGo subsequently compensates the owner for the lost profit in the form of a marketing service.
DRIVER
After completing a rental through the application, the driver always receives two invoices. Let’s review which ones they are.
1. INVOICE FOR RENTAL
The main item in this invoice is the car rental amount. There may also be items for extra mileage, missing fuel, or fines. If you applied a discount code during the inquiry, you will find the line item showing the discount here.
2. INVOICE FOR INSURANCE
When requesting a vehicle, it is necessary to have accident insurance for the duration of the rental. All vehicles on HoppyGo are insured. If you do not ask for a car with the owner’s own insurance, you will be paid for the insurance mediated through the insurance company UNIQA. HoppyGo will be the supplier and the driver the customer on the invoice. You pay the insurance rate when you request the vehicle, it is automatically negotiated based on the data entered during your registration.
Final tip:
- We send invoices after successfully completing your rental using the application, usually within three hours, to your registered e-mail address.
- If you have any questions regarding invoices and billing, please contact HoppyGo customer support at info@hoppygo.com or phone: +420 220 311 769 .
